1. Reduce your Co2 emissions.
Carbon dioxide increases the acidity in our waters, ultimately killing coral reefs and depriving marine animals of their homes. Try walking, biking, and eating plant-based more often.
2. Vote on ocean matters!
Electing public officials that care to help protect and restore our oceans makes a difference. Do your research (@soalliance & @oceana are great resources) and use your voice to shape the future.
3. Explore the water -- and clean up after yourself!
We've said it before and we'll say it again - explore the waters around you! Learning and appreciating the nature of our oceans will help you care and ultimately motivate you to push for change.

Today is Respect for Fish day, an initiative led by @ida_international to promote harm-free interactions with fish and marine mammals. In honor of this day, we encourage you to choose seafood alternatives for dinner tonight.
Below are some sad, but important facts to remember about our oceans and marine life on a day like today.
🐟 By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
🐋 29% of all fishing lines, 9% of traps, and 6% of nets are lost around the world each year.
🦈 Since plastics never fully decompose, fishing gear remains as microparticles in the ocean indefinitely. These particles are ingested by animals and pollute habitats.
🐬 Over 40 aquatic species, including whales, dolphins, seals, porpoises, manatees, sea turtles, sea lions, sharks, rays and other marine megafauna have been injured by ghost gear.
🦭 Fish often die after being hooked and thrown back into the water. The most common causes of death are the physiological stresses caused by the struggle during capture and injuries caused by the hook or the individual.

Cool down this summer with our pool noodle poke! ☀️
With a base of soba noodles, Current Foods Tuna swims in a savory and tangy ponzu sesame marinade. Pair the base with your favorite toppings — might we suggest you consider radish, edamame, cucumber and avocado. Here’s how you make it:
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1/2 pack of Current Tuna cubes (shop via our bio link!)
3 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp ponzu sauce
1 tsp black sesame seeds
4 ounces dry soba noodles
2 radishes
1/2 cup of Edamame (fresh or frozen)
1/2 Cucumber
1 Avocado
Preparation:
Mix together sesame oil, soy sauce, ponzu sauce and sesame seeds in a medium bowl. Add Current Tuna cubes and let sit.
Prepare soba noodles according to the instructions on the package.
Slice up your toppings. Assemble your bowl and top with black sesame seeds.
Enjoy! 🧑🍳

Here's a twist for you -- a current avotuna toast 😉
This new office favorite is a summer-time hit. With a creamy avocado base, Current Tuna marinaded in a light sesame and miso dressing topped with crunchy green onions and sesame seeds — it makes for a mouthwatering bite. Below is the full recipe.
Make it for lunch, as a snack, or top the avospread on sliced baguette rounds and serve as an appetizer at your next gathering.

Full recipe:
Serves: 1
Ingredients
• 1 Tablespoon White Miso
• 1 Teaspoon Freshly Grated Ginger
• 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
• 2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
• Pinch of Salt
• 3 Ounces Current Tuna (about 1/3 of the filet)
• 1/2 Avocado
• Black Sesame Seeds
• Sourdough bread
Directions
Step 1
• In a small bowl, mix together the white miso, ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt.
Step 2
• Cube the tuna to about a 0.5''x0.5'' size and add to the bowl of dressing. Dice 1/2 of an avocado, place in a small bowl add a touch of salt and mash. Finely chop some green onions.
Step 3
• Toast sourdough bread, smear the mashed avocado, and top with Current Tuna mixture. Garnish with finely cut green onion and black sesame seeds.
